Job Description
- Serving as the first point of contact for the NU members seeking technical assistance over the phone, ticketing system or email.
- Provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to light current and network, software, and hardware
- Establishes networking environment by designing system configuration; directing system installation; defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards.
- Installing, configuring, testing, troubleshooting, performing diagnostics, and repairing outages to all aspects of the network including network operating systems, VOIP System, workstations, VPN servers, Switches, gateways, Firewalls and routers.
- Maximizes network performance by monitoring performance; troubleshooting network problems and outages; scheduling upgrades; collaborating with network architects on network optimization.
- Secures network system by establishing and enforcing policies; defining and monitoring access.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
- Accomplishes information systems and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
- Reporting network operational status by gathering, prioritizing information; managing projects.
- Detect, diagnose and resolve network failures
- Analyze and respond to security incidents as notified by management.
- Basic Configuring, installing, managing and troubleshooting Voice system and IP phones.
- Installing, labelling, maintain and troubleshoot network wiring considering testing installed various media such as fibre optics and twisted pair copper cable.
- Determining the best solution based on the issue and details provided by customers
- Scheduling and performing net & LC Software updates and upgrades for the whole university.
Job Requirements
- Bachelors degree of Engineering or Computer Science or related degree.
- Experience configuring TCP/IP and protocols on fibre network and light current devices, activating/deactivation/testing ports
- Have to label of working as Network &LC Engineer
- Must have a strong experience Cisco Voice over IP systems (IP Phones System, IP CCTV, access control, digital signage) especially.
- Must have a good experience in Cisco Wireless Network
- Must be able to troubleshoot complex network problems and Monitor systems backups.
- Experience with upgrading code on network devices such as Cisco Switches and routers.
- Understanding of the following:- ( Layer2 and Layer7) switching, VLAN’s; trucking technologies; aggregation (LACP, PAGP), VTP, STP, (R) PVST (+), MST and Switching security
- Understanding routing protocols including EIGRP and OSPF.
- Have a knowledge of wireless network services and protocols
- Have a good command of English.
- Have a good skills' for building relationships with colleagues at all levels
