Job Description

Overall Job Purpose:

The ideal candidate has a strong accounting background because this role covers different aspects of accounting functions to ensure the smooth running of the business and help in achieving its targets. The purpose of the Accountant role to handle all accounting operations, to verify financial records and transactions.

Key Duties Include:

  • Preparing and posting journal entries including prepayment, accruals, provisions, salaries, commander's payments etc
  • Issuing purchase orders for local suppliers and allocating the receivables to the right customer
  • Manage petty cash requests and reconciling the petty cash to receipts received
  • Maintain all financial documents and records such as licenses and agreements
  • Ensuring all bank related transactions are uploaded and posted on a daily basis
  • Preparing the bank reconciliation on a weekly basis after booking all payments and receipts
  • Preparing and initiating payments to all local suppliers, and Commander's. This include bank transfers, cash, and cheque payments
  • Preparing all bank related documents such as amendment requests if there are any rejected bank transfers and recall requests
  • Maintain and update the payroll master file on a continual basis to ensure accuracy on monthly basis , and Coordinate with HR to ensure the correctness of the file and capture all the movements (joiners and leavers) before payroll cut-off
  • Ensure that bonuses / incentives and other employee expenses are paid along with salaries in a timely manner

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting , finance , business or related field
  • Previous experience in an accounts office , payroll procedures
  • Good analytical skills , working knowledge of book keeping
  • Team player attitude, and the ability to work independently and willingness to take on challenges.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work to tight deadlines
  • Good technical proficiency, literacy skills and a competent computer user
  • Strong Accountancy experience good analytical skills and good understanding and working knowledge of book keeping
  • Experience in financial reporting and month-end, including preparation and posting of journals and updating reconciliations
  • Excellent time management skills, ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Preferred Residence: Giza / Haram / 6th of October /El -Sheikh Zayed / Mohandessin / Dokki
