KG Assistant Teacher

• Primary Purpose : KG Teaching and Learning Assistant works closely with the class teacher to facilitate learning for all children both indoors and outdoors. She is responsible for helping the teacher by performing assigned duties such as developing, organizing, and putting into practice the daily program and assessment under the supervision of the teacher. She is required attend staff meetings and training programs.

• Assisting Teacher :
• Use teaching strategies to support children to achieve planned learning objectives
• Contribute to the planning and resourcing of learning activities
• Monitor children’s responses to learning activities and accurately record children’s achievements.
• Assists the teacher in maintaining a confidential assessment binder, consisting of developmental assessments, individual goals, and observations of progress toward meeting goals.
• Assist with the organizational management of the kindergarten learning environment.
• Support individuals or groups of children during circle times and focused activities .
• Support the use of IT as a teaching and learning strategy and develop children’ competence and independence in its use.
• Prepare, maintain and use equipment/resources required to deliver the relevant learning activities.
• Assist in the display and presentation of learning cues and children work inside and outside of the classroom environment as required.
• Assists the teacher in planning and maintaining a safe, clean, learning environment and in assuring the wellbeing and safety of the children in her care .

• Develop a positive and supportive relationship with children;
• Supervise and provide particular support for children
• Ensure children’s safety and access to learning activities;
• Promote children’s self-esteem and independence.
