Job Description

  • Responsible for construction projects from an Engineering perspective & Track project progress
  • Regular site inspection visits for the assigned projects to check its status and ensure that it complies with the time frame and requirements.
  • Evaluation of contractors from the Engineering perspective during contracts reviews and tenders negotiations & Handle invoices with clients
  • Supervise electrical workers
  • Prepare shop drawings and as-built drawings, and ensure documentation and records in use are reviewed, approved by the consultant.
  • Ensure the distribution of the approved shop drawings with the latest revision.
  • Study and prepare requests for information, follow up on subcontractor’s progress.
  • Interact with Material Engineer regarding the material submittal and specifications; resolve any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise.
  • Prepare technical and material proposals.
  • Provide and gather all the required technical documents such as drawings, manuals and instructions for the construction team.
  • Manage quantity surveying and change orders.
  • Check the quality of the work executed.
  • Site visits to discuss project scope of work. Agree on deliverables and offer general technical advice relating to power and lighting systems.
  • Supervise and manage all site based operatives, overseeing all aspects of their work, to include; carrying out safety inductions; toolbox talks; controlling quality of work; ensuring method statement and order fulfillment; cleanliness & tidiness; the use of plant and tools, waste reduction; upkeep of plant and facilities; use of personal protection equipment/wear,
  • Check that all materials used, including those used by sub-contractors, are compliant with technical and quality specifications.
  • Maintain and track deliveries, ensure that stock and materials are deployed properly.
  • Work closely with the Contracts Manager to plan the project effectively, by ensuring that the project requirements, specification, design drawings, health and safety proposals are all read, understood and agreed and that a project program is in place.
  • Set up an emergency plan and general site facilities for the project, ensuring that these are in line with the health and safety proposal.
  • Form and maintain the storage facilities and manage stock planning so that stock, materials, plant and tools are organized to meet the timescales for the project.
  • Formulate a material schedule for the project, including take off from issued drawings and specifications, and produce requisitions as far ahead of program periods as possible to enable best prices to be obtained by the Purchasing Department.
  • Produce a labor schedule in conjunction with line manager and project surveyor to ensure sub-contractors packages are placed in time to meet the program.
  • Maintain the schedule and track progress, keeping records on file and copying weekly records to line manager/ office.

Job Requirements

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related engineering field.
  • 8+ years overall direct experience in facilities (or related) engineering, facilities operations or project engineering in commercial pharmaceutical, or medical device manufacturing environment.
  • Fully awareness of the industrial norms (Pharmaceutical industry )
  • Direct experience with project management and project planning.
  • Direct experience working in compliance with cGMP operations is required.
  • Experience with manual and automated commercial manufacturing equipment required,
  • Experience with pharmaceutical plant shut-down and start-ups.

  • Strong organizational and teamwork skills
  • Ability to influence and manage individuals without having direct authority over those individuals.
  • Creative problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficient in creating and managing detailed Excel spreadsheets and Project Gantt schedules.
  • General PC literacy required (Office suite)
  • Travel may be required
