Job Description
- Record and process accounts receivables and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures
- Perform day to day financial transactions including verifying, classifying, computing, posting and recording accounts receivable data
- Generate accounting statements and reports
- Research cash receipts, coding and posting of receipts
- Prepare bills, invoices and bank deposits
- Maintain client accounts, accounts receivable write-offs and payment reversals
- Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment
- Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances
- Match invoices to checks, obtain all signatures for checks and distribute checks accordingly
- Respond to all vendor inquiries
- Reconcile vendor statements, research and correct discrepancies
- Prioritise invoices according to cash discount potential and payment terms
- Pay employees by receiving and verifying expense reports and requests for advances; preparing checks
- Maintain accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions; perform month-end closing
- Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices
- Utilise computerised accounting software programs to perform duties and responsibilities.
- Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted
- Verify discrepancies by and resolve clients’ billing issues
- Provide monthly financial and management reports
- Assist in financial management, analysis, and auditing as requested
Job Requirements
- Updated with Egyptian & International accounting standards and practices
- Experience in accounting and database and data mining software
- Proven experience as an accountant
- Excellent organizing abilities
- Great attention to detail
- Good with numbers and figures and an analytical acumenGood understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with relevant computer software
- Qualifications (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) is a plus but not required
- BSc/Ba in accounting, finance or relevant field
- CPA is a plus
