Job Description

Main Responsibilities

  • Suggests the maintenance plan and raise it for approval
  • Participates in budget setting and monitors costs in line with set budget.
  • Founds and updates file for every machinery, equipment…etc including maintenance instructions and records.
  • Supervises the maintenance operations as per the SOPs and the set plan
  • Ensures the spare parts availability as required
  • Prepares periodical reports as required
  • Supervises maintenance work executed by external contractors
  • Coordinates with relevant personnel from relevant departments to undertake maintenance operations.
  • Completes any required paperwork accurately and in full.
  • Complies with all Site Rules and Procedures.
  • Complies with all HSE and PPE instructions.
  • In addition to Departmental management responsibilities:
    Ensuring plant, equipment and buildings are maintained in a safe condition and in compliance with relevant
  • Legislation, permits and authorizations.
  • Ensuring all necessary plant and equipment inspections are carried out and remedial action taken.
  • Ensuring all moving parts of machinery are identified, guarded and inspected as part of planned maintenance activities.
  • Ensuring contractors are approved in accordance with local procedure, inducted and their activities suitably controlled.
  • Ensuring ‘management of change’ procedures are adhered to.
  • Ensuring risk assessments are in place for all engineering maintenance activities.
  • Ensuring staff are suitably trained and qualified for the required tasks.
  • Liaising with SBU engineering matter of best practices relating to key safety engineering standards.
  • Responsible for maintaining and executing preventive maintenance schedule.
  • Plan major production line or machines repair.
  • Develop and implement procedures for industrial security and ensure compliance with laws and regularities pertaining to the area of safety and industrial environment.
  • Regularly communicates with operations and sales regarding status of fleet vehicles, containers and/or other equipment.
  • Maintains adherence to company policy in regards to operations and safety issues. Maintains a safe and productive work environment for all employees. Investigates accidents, injuries and property claims with the HSE department.
  • Initiates corrective/preventative and continuous improvement opportunities through defined/document channels, and actively participates in developing, implementing, and verifying corrective/improvement actions.
  • Serves as an integral part of the Division’s management team in assuring coordination of efforts of all departments in providing quality service to customers, budget preparation, and goal attainment.
  • Controls maintenance costs relating to personnel, purchasing, inventory control and outsourcing of repairs.
  • Provides a safe working environment for all employees and actively participate in plant safety program along with the HSE department.
  • Ensures corrective maintenance is performed safely, effectively, and expeditiously.
  • Ensures that the maintenance department maintains quality and safety standards.
  • Ensures all production machines are running at maximum efficiency.
  • Prepare monthly reports on hazardous equipment or machinery that requires extensive maintenance.
  • Manages the department staff, including responsibility for hiring, training, scheduling work assignments, performance management, discipline, and authorization of overtime.

Job Requirements

  • 10+ years previous experience with maintenance in a production/ manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in all phases of maintenance and repair: mechanics, electrical and building maintenance.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and maintaining process control software.
  • Knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM).
  • Knowledge of Total Quality Maintenance (TQM).
  • Strong leadership skills and team requirements building abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills as well as the capability and desire to grow into other Company leadership positions.
  • Demonstrated track record of growth as a manufacturing engineering professional.
