Main Responsibilities:
- Include installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, maintenance and troubleshooting of server hardware operating systems, storage, software and utilities in a large enterprise environment.
- Involved with production projects that include system design, programmer and development support and operational management within the application lifecycle process.
- Ensuring all Linux systems and databases are online per business and are running satisfactory for all company needs.
- Work with other admin team members on miscellaneous issues such as desktop support and user issues.
Job Requirements
- Previous working experience as a Linux Administrator for 2 years
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or similar relevant degree
- Install, configure, maintain, analyze and resolve problems associated with the server’s OS, hardware and S/W.
- Installation and configuration of web-based systems including Apache HTTP servers.
- Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions.
- Perform backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed.
- LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP)
- LEMP (Linux, Nginx, MySQL, and PHP)
- System Automation tools, eg. Puppet, Chef, or Ansible
- MySQL database design and management
- No SQL database design and management, eg. MongoDB.
- IN depth knowledge of Linux: RedHat, CentOS, Debian, etc.
- Expert with WHM like cpanels creating , backup , web technologies like PHP , mysql
- Database Servers (MySQL, postgresql, MongoDB)
- Caching Services (Redis, memcached)
- Expert with bash script
- Scripting in something like python, Perl or ruby.
- Nagios | zabbix | mon | ganglia monitoring systems
- Basic networking knowhow
- Experience with Linux servers in virtualized environments
- Familiarity with load balancing, firewalls, etc.
- Hands on experience with MySQL and/or MariaDB and it’s tuning
- Familiarity with VMWare and SAN management and concepts
- Solid knowledge of protocols such as DNS, HTTP, LDAP, SMTP and SNMP
- Additional Linux certifications (RHCT, RHCE and LPIC) will be considered an advantage
- Perform diagnostic tests, notes symptoms, and gathers relevant problem/malfunction facts and data from users.
