Job Description
- Design, create and maintain technical documentation.
- Produce high-quality documentation that is appropriate for its intended audience.
- Work with internal teams on product and documentation requirements.
- Write easy-to-understand user interface text, online help, developer guides, technical documentation, publications, related documents, user scenarios and other media.
- Create tutorials to help end-users use a variety of applications.
- Review and edit material to ensure accuracy, completeness and consistency of information within documents and between related documents.
- Create management plans for Configuration, Security, Program and Operations using Word, Visio and Excel.
- Analyze existing and potential content, focusing on reuse and single-sourcing opportunities.
- Create and maintain the information architecture.
- Maintain a comprehensive library of technical terminology and documentation.
- Revise documents as new issues arise.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, English Language major or Computer Science bachelor’s degree.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in writing, whether technical writing or copywriting.
- Excellent English writing skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Experience in software manuals, textbooks, product instructions, technical online content, memorandums, employee manuals, policy manuals and offers.
- Expert knowledge of documentation tools and documentation best practices.
- Proven working experience in technical writing of software documentation.
- Aware of the basic tactics of writing and of the different types of manuals of styles.
- Able to write for technical, semi-technical and non-technical audiences.
- Advanced knowledge of relevant document design and best practices.
- Creativity in writing documents and talented in showing ideas graphically.
- Ability to track the documents in an organized way.
- Ability to use graphics programs to capture, size and import screenshots and graphics into documentation.
