Job Description
The Housekeeping Trainer is responsible for the successful onboarding and training of Housekeeping Team Members. The Trainer partners with Housekeeping Leadership to create and execute a comprehensive training plan for each new team member, personally seeing to each new hire’s onboarding and learning experience. Combining classroom and hands-on learning, the Trainer works throughout the department to develop and maintain a culture of continuous best practice training.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Partner with Housekeeping Leadership to develop and maintain training programs for Office Coordinator, Guest Room Attendant, Houseperson, Public Area, Laundry, and Guest Specialist positions.
- Develop and maintain living documents of current Housekeeping standards, products, and process. Ensure proper communication of changes to standards throughout the Hotel.
- Identify and select candidates for Housekeeping positions. Partner with Housekeeping Leadership to develop comprehensive training programs for each new hire.
- Participate in inspection and auditing processes to ensure product and service quality standards are upheld. Identify areas of opportunity and develop strategic improvement plans.
- Work with Hotel Leadership and Human Resources to improve employee engagement levels. Develop initiatives to reduce turnover in key positions.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule. Schedule will vary from week to week dependent upon business volumes and the needs of trainees. No rotation schedule will be granted.
- Identifies all maintenance deficiencies and coordinates repairs with Housekeeping and Facilities Leadership as necessary. Properly communicates urgency needed for all requests.
- Must meet the attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to all departmental and company policies.
- Delivers ‘A’ Service in every guest interaction. Demonstrates Harrah’s Spotlight 5 behaviors:
- Initiates Friendly Greeting, Smiles and Makes Eye Contact, Demonstrates Upbeat and Positive Attitude, Checks for Satisfaction, Provides a Warm Farewell.
Job Requirements
- A minimum of six months to one-year previous experience as a Guest Room Attendant at an Upscale or Luxury Hotel is preferred. Must be able to get along well with co-workers and work well as a team member.
- A minimum of six months to one-year previous experience in a Supervisory or Training capacity is preferred.
- Must successfully complete a training program and pass initial cleanliness test, as well as maintain a passing score on subsequent room inspections, internal guest surveys, external quality control service shops, and external guest communication.
- Must possess excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Must be able to complete assignments to the highest standard in a fast-paced, physically demanding work environment.
- Must be able to work any day of the week. Must be able to work varied shifts dependent upon the needs of trainees.
- Must present a well-groomed appearance.
