Job Summary:
In this position you will be responsible for all day-to-day activities of the cost accounting function for the entire organization. You will act as the liaison between the Plant Accountants and Corporate Accounting. In this highly visible position your expertise will be challenged as you interface regularly with senior management as well as concerned departments heads.
Responsibilities
- Plan, organize and direct all the activities of the cost accounting function
- Manage day to day operations of the existing cost accounting function from management of current rates to monthly close and analysis
- Manage the transition from the existing cost environment to a new standard cost system
- Development and maintenance of standard costs
- Compare the actual vs. standard cost and identify the variation reasons (if any)
- Share in products pricing process
- Perform the monthly closing activities including preparation of the cost to operate statement along with supporting analysis
- Proactive analysis of variances and communication of issues and opportunities to operations management
- Develop metrics and tracking system for major cost drivers
- Define policies and procedures for all cost accounting activities
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 5+ years progressive experience in cost accounting in a manufacturing and distribution organization
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
- CPA is a plus
- Good command of English language
