Job Description

Seeking an Export Sales Manager to lead expansion of the company’s sales outside of Egypt, with initial focus on North Africa and the GCC. The successful candidate will have export sales or international business development experience, a desire for a high degree of responsibility, and a sense of adventure. This is an ideal position for someone looking to create and lead a new sales channel at a rapidly growing Hi-Tech manufacturing company. The position will be based in our Cairo office, and will report to the Deputy CEO.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify Potential business opportunities in the metering segment,
  • Develop export sales expansion strategy – which countries, when, how
  • Implement all export strategies and activities and ensure adherence to all utility requirements and prepare all export documents within required timeframe,
  • Cultivate new sources of leads and define a clear sales process,
  • Build new partnerships with Utilities, real estate developers and mobile operators around the area of operation,
  • Develop sales promotion materials for international audiences (Catalogues, giveaways, corporate presentation … etc) along with marketing agencies,
  • Provide after-sales marketing and technical support to international customers in
  • Conjunction with R&D, Production and engineering teams,
  • Develop and manage appropriate metrics and systems for forecasting and reporting on sales and the sales pipeline,
  • Maintain strong knowledge of end-customers and market through regular visits to utilities and industry exhibitions,
  • Assist business partners to design efficient distributing strategies for customers and prepare their tender submittals.

Job Requirements

  • 5 - 7 years of professional work experience, preferably in export sales to the GCC, Africa or in international business development,
  • Experience in setting up a sales channel from scratch – defining market entry strategy,
  • Establishing sales processes, discovering new sources of leads, writing a pitch, etc.
  • Experience writing and negotiating distribution agreements,
  • Persistent – you don’t take “no” for an answer, and create five different paths to a “yes”
  • Excellent communication skills combined with a strong sense of adventure – must be fascinated by meeting all sorts of characters over the phone, Skype, able to close deals virtually, and ready for occasional solo jaunts to Africa,
  • Engineering Bachelor’s degree required
  • Native fluency in written and spoken English required + French is a Plus.
  • Experience with Electrical products and MDM systems preferred
