Job Description:
As Finance Manager you will be responsible for Accounting, Purchasing, Payroll, Billing, and Collections. You will oversee the Company’s day-to-day financial operations, accounting practices, procedures, records and reports.
Key Functional Responsibilities:
- Ensure accurate and timely generation of monthly financials reports including Income Statement, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow.
- Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget
- Generate monthly/weekly/annual financial report summaries, providing both analysis and recommended actions.
- Prepare financial outlooks, forecasts and project future cash needs
- Oversee Accounts Payable, tracking POs and vendor aging.
- Support company’s banking relationship and compliance reporting
- Oversee the company’s independent financial audits
- Oversee the completion and filing of the company’s tax return and other tax filings
- Monitor internal controls and compliance
- Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, including process improvements, client interaction and audit support
- Track the company's financial status and performance to identify areas for potential improvement
- Seek out methods for minimizing financial risk to the company
- Provide insightful information and expectations to senior executives to aid in long-term and short-term decision making
- Establish and maintain financial policies and procedures for the company
Job Requirements
- At least 2 years experience with professional services firms (software developers, lawyers, accountants, engineers, etc.)
- Deep understanding of professional services, especially revenue recognition, cost allocation, and profitability.
- Degree in business or accounting required
- Experience with xero.com or other cloud-based accounting solutions
- Professional accounting qualification - CIMA, ACCA, CA, CPA, etc.
- Must be a demonstrable spreadsheet expert (MS Excel and/or Google Sheets)
- Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines
