Job Summary
Co-teachers are teacher trainees who develop their teaching skills at the same time assisting class teachers in instructions and supervisions.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise students in the morning lines every morning at 7:30 am.
- Check Files and channel books every morning.
- Help with all corrections during class sessions and afterward, if required.
- Assist with managing the class during class sessions.
- Provide one-to-one student assistance as required by the class teacher.
- Discusses assigned duties with classroom teachers in order to coordinate instructional efforts.
- Prepares lesson materials, bulletin board displays, exhibits, equipment, and demonstrations under the supervision of the class teacher.
- Tutors and assists children individually or in small groups in order to assist in the mastery of assignments and to reinforce learning concepts presented by teachers.
- Supervises students in classrooms, halls, cafeterias, school yards, or on field trips.
- Distributes tests and homework assignments, and collects them when they are completed.
- Instructs and assists students in following classroom routines.
- Enforces administration policies and rules governing students.
- Instructs and monitors students in the use and care of equipment and materials, in order to prevent injuries and damage.
- Observes students' performance, and records relevant data to help the class teacher assess progress.
- Supervises and assists with activities to promote physical, mental, and social development.
- Assists the teacher in preparing for teacher-parent conferences and scheduled meetings regarding students’ progress or problems.
- Prepares various teaching aids under teacher direction.
- Helps prepare lesson outlines and plans in assigned subject areas when asked to do so.
- Attends staff meetings, and serves on committees as required.
- Types, files, duplicates, and laminates teaching materials.

Job Requirements and Qualifications
- Becoming a co-teacher requires compassion, dedication, hard work and a lot of patience. There are a few basic teacher qualifications that you will have to achieve to be a co-teacher.
Education, Licensing and Certification:
- A teacher must possess a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- “Tarbawy Diploma” is a plus.
- The use of technology in the classroom.
- Models correct use of English language, oral and written.
Continuing Education:
- Teacher has to continue his/her education through joining educational courses for teaching early learners and adolescents.
- Teachers should also obtain training for relevant technologies that could help in teaching.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
School co-teachers must possess the following skills:
