Job Description
- Control the execution of all geological activities during drilling and workover operations.
- Ensure that all geological operations are carried out safely and report any accidents or incidents.
- Development of the daily geological report using the software "WellView".
- Compilation of the geological log of the well (lithology).
- Ensure compliance of the drilling program and its implementation.
- Ensure the proper execution of the "Mud Logging" services in the contractual conditions and GB procedures.
- Planning sampling operations, checking the quality of the data provided (drilling parameters, gas, etc.) and keeping the documentation (Logbook, Hydrocarbons Journal, etc.).
- Control of the cuttings, their description, the litho-stratigraphic column, the summits of the formations, the presence of the indices (gas, oil, ...) and the contamination of the drilling mud.
- Control sludge logging equipment, sensor installation, gas trap, pipelines, total gas and chromatograph, and eventual correction of periodic tests.
- Develop correlations with surrounding wells with the support of the geophysicist to determine the "casing shoe" at the end of each phase.
- Run the logging program during drilling operations (Logging in the drilling phase) and at the end of each drilling phase ("Wireline Logging").
- Followed all drilling phases according to the technical recommendations of the G & G Department.
- Supervision and quality assurance (QA) of service companies, including mud logging, LWD / MWD, Wireline, geochemistry, etc.
- Ensure proper sampling, processing, storage and shipment of samples (cuttings, carrots, fluids, etc.).
- Collection, transmission and archiving of all required reports and logs on a daily, weekly and as needed basis.
- Establish direct contact with the managers by communicating all the geological information, the problems encountered and propose possible solutions.
Participate in all Rig-related drilling meetings, including HSE meetings.
Job Requirements
- Engineering degree in Petroleum Geology.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in the supervision of operations as Probe Geologist.
- Very good command of English and French languages
- Ability to work in multicultural environment in 4x4 system with 2x12h working amplitude
