Job Description

  • Manages various General Ledger functions such as journal entry preparation / month end close, financial statement preparation, account reconciliation, bank reconciliation.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of goals, policies, priorities, and procedures relating to financial management, budget, and cost allocation accounting.
  • Supervises and participates in the preparation of various financial statements and reports for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Oversees the government and private grant budget functions. Ensures timely completion of budget proposals, grant financial reporting and support documentation, and other fiscal documents including budget modification, continued funding applications, contract renewal etc.
  • Oversees monthly invoicing of program expenditures to ensure grant spending is within the scope of the grants and contracts.
  • Directs the maintenance of general and subsidiary ledgers, accounts receivable, revenue distribution, depreciation, cost, property, and operating expenses, and insurance records.
  • Provide oversight for accounts payable and accounts receivable with close
  • attention to cash flow analysis and forecasting.
  • Directs internal audits involving review of accounting and administrative controls.
  • Coordinates preparation of external audit materials and external financial reporting.
  • Directs the installation and maintenance of new accounting, inventory, property, and other related procedures and controls to safe guard agency assets.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with 3-7 years of experience in an accounting/finance setting, general ledger experience.
  • At least 3 years of supervisor experience.
  • Experience in handling a variety of month end close responsibilities and working within generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Strong skills working with Excel – Pivot tables, data mining and advanced formula creation.
  • Working knowledge of SAP system.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and simultaneously manage
  • multiple demands and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with solid problem-solving skills.
  • Committed and dedicated to meeting financial goals.
