Project Manager - EHS

• Owns the FMC’s EHS management system and project-wide EHS management plans.
• Chairs the project-wide EHS committee
• Works with project management team to set EHS performance indicators for FMC activities
• Monitors FMC EHS operational performance and report against indicators
• Support procurement team to define EHS performance and indicators required from contractors
• Ensures health & safety procedures are followed and requirements met by FMC staff
• Ensures that all FMC workers receive adequate EHS training;
• Collects FMC KPIs with technical support of FMC EHS staff and KPIs from Developers and Contractors, and aggregating collected KPIs for the entire Project
• Directs team to ensure that water meets project needs and standards
• Prepares EHS requirements for the worker camp
• Maintains EHS accident/incident logs and proposing corrective measures
• Compiles HSE incident/violation reports to EHSS and Projects Directors
• Ensures EHS grievances or non-conformities are adequately managed and related response actions are undertaken
• Ensures that Hazardous Material Management procedures are followed and requirements are met by all the responsible professional figures.
• Ensures dust and air quality monitoring /compliance at individual plots through random checks
• Ensures that groundwater quality monitoring procedures are followed by all the responsible professional figures.
• Ensures waste management procedures are followed and requirements met by all responsible.
• Authorises Permits-to-Work for high-risk FMC activities
• Sets schedule for internal EHS audit of FMC activities and leads the audit activity
• Handles correspondence/compliance with Civil Defence and communicates to Project Director

Site-wide Responsibilities

• Develops inspection schedules of Developers and Contractors and instructs team to execute
• Reviews EHSL national legislation and evaluates applicability
• Propose updates or changes to EHS policy, management system and plans accordingly, as well as necessary communications and actions towards Developers/ Contractors
• Implements updates, amendments and changes included in the ESMS Manual and Construction EHS management plans, actions and communications, and seeks approval of Project Director
• Prepares and reviews the risk register for FMC activities
• Supports preparation of EHS induction video and induction training for workers
• Owns awareness budget, prepares communication signs/ campaigns on site/camp/ community
• Ensures monitoring compliance at the individual plots through random checks;
• Participates in investigation of major incidents and reporting relevant findings to EHSSL director;
• Authorizes and supports HS officer to stop work when there are failures to execute work under safe conditions or established HS requirements.
• Collecting FMC KPIs and KPIs from developers and contractors, and aggregating collected KPIs for the entire Benban Project;
• Maintains EHS accident/incident logs and proposing corrective measures
• Compiles EHS incident/violation reports to EHSS and projects directors
• Conducts analysis of EHS trends and comment on emerging opportunities and threats
• Contacts emergency services in case of accident or emergency
