Solar PV Electrical Engineer

EgySolar is currently seeking a Solar PV Electrical Engineer to support the development, design, and installation of Solar Photovoltaic (PV) generating systems including energy storage options. Projects include commercial and industrial as well as utility scale installations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Development Phase:

• Collaborate with Project Developers to gain understanding of design intent and customer requirements.
• Perform site visits for detailed engineering review of project site, including evaluation of electrical interconnection, civil and site conditions.
• Gather key project details such as utility data, facility profiles, site drawings, and system operating data.
• Prepare technical content, proposals, analysis, feasibility reports.
• Review project submittals for quality assurance, technical accuracy, and customer-oriented solutions.
• Develop detailed construction drawing sets for Solar PV projects (including PV Module layouts, electrical one-line and three-line diagrams, electrical layouts and details) and ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and protocol.
• Coordinate with outside engineers providing relay protection, medium voltage, civil, and structural design services.
• Facilitate engineering input from third party firms and product manufacturers.

Construction Phase:

• Coordinate with Construction Managers on local permitting requirements.
• Assist Construction Management Team with equipment procurement.
• Perform regular project site visits during construction to ensure installation is in accordance with permitted construction documents and industry standards.
• Provide collaborative technical support to all parties throughout project design, construction, and implementation.
• Assisting Project Commissioning Team with testing procedures, punch list development.

Business Intelligence

• Exhibit comprehensive knowledge and understanding of project proposals and contract terms.

• Research and provide direction on key solar industry developments; including, equipment, vendors, partners, competitors, trends, best practices and ever-evolving solar landscape.

• Develop and maintain knowledge and understanding of all EgySolar product and service offerings as well as market, renewable, and energy services developments.

• Strengthen knowledge of solar and photovoltaic systems industry, structure, trends, issues to ensure full understanding of customer business objectives and requirements.
