Job Description
- Participate in the creation and development of unified materials and vendors database
- Assist in the creation and development of purchasing policies, procedures, and standards
- Review and analyze purchase requisitions
- Receive, review, and evaluate supplier proposals to ensure they meet proposal requirements
- Scouting the market for potential suppliers to meet order requirements and specifications
- Processes purchase requisitions, purchase orders, purchase order revisions, and requests for quotes to suppliers
- Perform price analysis for materials, components, equipment and services
- Monitor the cost, schedule and scope of assigned procurements to negotiate the highest quality at best value
- Develop internal and external resources to assist the purchasing area in sourcing, researching and evaluating goods, products, services and alternative suppliers. Report problems or variances
- Lead and coordinate cross-functional relationships with other areas inside the organization which affect the supply chain performance
- Assist and promote communication and successful working relationships with other functional areas within the organization and outside vendors which affect the Supply Chain function and effectiveness.
- Report problems to Management.
- Meet regularly with direct/indirect reports involved with the supply chain function to ensure that all supplies, materials, and products are ordered on time, shipped, and received on schedule and within quality requirements.
Job Requirements
- Detail oriented and has exceptional organization skills
- Understands the fundamentals of maintain data integrity
- Understanding of basic supply chain function
- Understanding of basic finance and accounting
- Excellent command of the English language (Italian is a strong plus)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Experience in cost-cutting or improving operational efficiency
- Strong planning, decision making and communication skills
- Knowledge of basic contract formation and negotiation techniques is a plus
