Job Description

Job Purpose:

Builds and maintains KarmSolar’s market position in the solar sector and explores new market opportunities where KarmSolar can expand regionally and grow its pipeline.

Job Description:

Solar Technology Understanding:

  • Understanding of existing PV technologies as well as internally developed products.
  • Familiar with the technicalities of the power market.

Market Knowledge:

  • Attending conferences to network and build long-lasting relationships.
  • Generating leads through conducting regional online and offline market research about the renewables industry including PPAs and EPCs.
  • Following up with competition news and pipeline.

Process Management:

  • Sales process management and delivery mapping out and developing a sales/BD plan with the team that is reviewed every 6 months.
  • Analysing and interpreting gathered data to generate statistics and steps moving forward.
  • Liaising with the finance team to negotiate and close deals with prospective clients.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Coordinating with the marketing team on the correct social media strategy to target prospective clients.
  • Contacting potential clients to set up meetings and offer tailored energy solutions/alternatives.
  • Developing proposals and price offers to potential clients.
  • Evaluating successful and unsuccessful client acquisition.

Supervisory Duties:

  • Training the sales team and helping them develop new skill sets.
  • Ability to delegate tasks to subordinates and monitor progress.
  • Producing reports and presentations to illustrate findings to the Leadership team.

Job Requirements

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Finance or a related field.
  • Strong written and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
  • 7+ years of experience in sales/ business development, preferably in the energy sector.
  • Attention to detail with the ability to multitask.
  • In-depth knowledge of the solar/renewables industry.
  • Ability to lead and coordinate a team.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Strong social network.
  • Familiarity with CRM tools.
