Senior Database Administrator

• Administer multiple Oracle/SQL databases , Oracle E-Business Suite applications, oracle Discoverer , Oracle EPPM application and Oracle BI
• Monitoring performance and managing parameters to provide fast responses to front-end users
• Establishing the needs of users and monitoring user access and security;
• Mapping out the conceptual design for a planned database;
• Considering both back-end organization of data and front-end accessibility for end-users;
• Refining the logical design so that it can be translated into a specific data model;
• Further refining the physical design to meet system storage requirements;
• Installing and testing new versions of the DBMS;
• Maintaining data standards, including adherence to the Data Protection Act;
• Writing database documentation, including data standards, procedures and definitions for the data dictionary (metadata);
• Controlling access permissions and privileges;
• Developing, managing and testing back-up and recovery plans;
• Ensuring that storage and archiving procedures are functioning correctly;
• Communicating regularly with technical, applications and operational staff to ensure database integrity and security;
• Responsible for all Linux/Oracle OS environments in terms of setup, maintenance and upgrades.
• Responsible for application and database cloning for Oracle DB and Oracle Applications
• Responsible for all database backup activities
• Participate in disaster recovery activities
• Oracle Real Application Cluster
• Ability patches, install and maintain Oracle E-Business R12 Applications, database(s) and other Oracle products such as Oracle Grid Control, managing agents, and client software
• Initiate, identify and propose new tasks and projects
• Monitoring performance and managing parameters to provide fast query responses to 'front end' users;
• Drive internal customer satisfaction by actively monitoring the end-user experience and creating action plans to address significant issues.
• Ability to work with Weblogic server & application server

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for entire Backup and Recovery operations for PHD
