Job Description
- Organize and control an efficient Utility section engineering workshop including the management of Technicians and Graded Workers.
- Scheduling the work on a daily basis to the utility Technicians
- Plan, control and organize the planned preventative and corrective mechanical maintenance on all of the utility section which include heavy equipment and boilers, compressors, dryers, baler, shredder, generator, airline systems, steam line systems, waste water, and distribution system in order to maximize their lifespan and ensure safety.
- Follow up the progression and inspection process of to ensure the efficient and effective performance of utility section equipment’s, ensuring remedial work is undertaken to prevent failure/loss (Breakdowns) of the plant and equipment.
- Supervise unplanned work resulting from breakdown and emergencies, making sure they are dealt with in efficient manner by prioritizing as required for the provision of a 24 hour callout service
- Responsible for major installation or maintenance projects, leading the team of engineers and Technicians assigned to the task.
- Follow up and analyse the downtimes and solve them quickly
- Plan, control and organize the planned preventative and corrective Electrical maintenance on all of the Hi-Pack utility and other equipment in order to maximize their lifespan and ensure safety.
- Follow up the progression and inspection process of to ensure the efficient and effective performance of Electrical plant and machinery, ensuring remedial work is undertaken to prevent failure/loss (Breakdowns) of the plant and equipment.
- Maintain a register of all workshop for utility equipment’s to supervise the timely calibration and maintenance of this equipment.
- Supervise the administration of the utility workshop. Ensure all log books and departmental records are effectively maintained to enable stock control, ordering of parts on SAP system and all other workshop functions operate efficiently.
- Issue reports on major problems and failures, suggesting the suitable corrective actions to min or prevent recurrence of the problem.
- Implementing 5S program to meet the company requirements.
- Produce daily, weekly, monthly and annual transport statistics and reports, to review performance and recommend procedural enhancements for discussion with the plant engineer and appropriate area managers.
- Work within the Workshop on a regular basis, to retain/update mechanical/electrical skills & knowledge. Be prepared to step and assist utility Technicians in times of emergencies & undertake on the job training with utility Technicians should it be required.
- Develop an environmental strategy for the workshop to have clear authority responsibility and guide rules.
- Oversees in trouble-shooting complex utility section problems and failures by working closely with his team whenever required.
- Issues reports on major problems and failures, suggests suitable corrective actions to minimize or prevent recurrence of the problem.
- Assists Purchase Department in specification of items for purchase, spare parts details and other day-to-day jobs, as and when required.
- Participating in utility plans by studying operational plans; studying existing conditions; determining needs to accomplish operational plans; mapping solutions; updating and modifying requirements and solutions; preparing cost estimates and budgets.
- Make and follow the required utility (Local/Foreign) PRs on SAP for all the utility equipment to avoid any suddenly stop accordance with The Hi-Pack procedures.
Job Requirements
