Job Description
- Prepare documents, meeting materials and correspondence
- Perform basic administrative support duties as required to meet specific operational objectives
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned by the IT Manager
- Work extra hours to meet deadlines, as required and where reasonable
- Provide assistance as required to the IT Manager
- Provide assistance and support to colleagues in IT-related matters
- Ensure that a high level of support is provided to all internal and external customers
- Adhere to company protocol.
- Develops project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans; conferring with management.
- Determines project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards; completing technical studies; preparing cost estimates.
- Confirms product performance by designing and conducting tests.
- Determines project schedule by studying project plan and specifications; calculating time requirements; sequencing project elements.
- Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress; coordinating activities; resolving problems.
- Controls project plan by reviewing design, specifications, and plan and schedule changes; recommending actions.
- Controls project costs by approving expenditures; administering contractor contracts
- Prepares project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends; recommending actions
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations
- Maintains project data base by writing computer programs; entering and backing up data.
- Maintains product and company reputation.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Establishing networking environment by designing system configuration, directing system installation, defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards; the design and implementation of new solutions and improving resilience of the current environment;
- Maximizing network performance by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems and outages, scheduling upgrades and collaborating with network architects on network optimization; undertaking data network fault investigations in local and wide area environments, using information from multiple sources;
- Securing network system by establishing and enforcing policies, and defining and monitoring access;
- The support and administration of firewall environments in line with IT security policy;
- Updating job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks and participating in professional organisations; reporting network operational status by gathering, prioritizing information and managing projects;
- Upgrading data network equipment to latest stable firmware releases;
- Configuration of routing and switching equipment; configuration of hosted IP voice services; basic configuration of firewalls; remote support of on-site engineers and end users/customers during installation; remote troubleshooting and fault finding if issues occur upon initial installation; capacity management and audit of IP addressing and hosted devices within data centers.
Job Requirements
- Proven experience as a Network engineer
- Good understanding of computer systems, mobile devices and other tech products
- Ability to diagnose and resolve basic technical issues
- Proficiency in English
- Excellent communication skills
- BSc/BA in IT, Computer Science or relevant field
- 3 years of experience
