About the Job:

  • KarmSolar is rapidly expanding with more than 45 MWs of committed projects to be implemented over the coming 18 months. As more local and international interest is building up in the solar sector it is our challenge to provide accurate analysis that would allow us to identify the right opportunities to continue growing.
  • This is not a typical job as it involves creating analysis tools for a nascent sector with great potential. KarmSolar is keen on maintaining its position ahead of the local and regional markets through adopting creative technical, commercial, and financial mechanisms that would allow it to grow and benefit the community.
  • The finance team will be at the heart of the financially creative models that we will build and scale over the coming year.

Job Purpose:

  • Supporting the Corporate Finance team with adequate tools necessary to analyze the prospects of upcoming projects and evaluating the risks of existing ones through creating robust financial models.
  • As well as helping the corporate finance team during the business planning phase to facilitate the process of raising capital.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Creating robust financial models for different business functions, chiefly for assessing new project opportunities among other purposes
  • Working on project feasibility studies for project financing
  • Collaborating with the commercial teams in determining product pricing and preparing price offers
  • Working with different teams throughout the business planning cycle
  • Conducting financial analysis of potential clients to identify their credit worthiness
  • Providing updates on local and international transactions in the renewable energy sector
  • Preparing debt financing packages
  • Conduct financial analysis for the group subsidiaries and produce KPI reports to assess the performance of the SBU’s
  • Reports to Senior Financial Analyst

Working Conditions:

  • Daily working hours are typically from 9am – 6pm consisting of 8 hours per day with 1 hour break.
  • Overtime will be necessary when required.
  • Weekends are rarely used except in situations where there are deadlines to meet.

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics or other relevant fields
  • Strong Financial modeling skills
  • Analytical thinking
  • Written and verbal communication
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
  • Time management and priority setting
