Job Description

Position basic Function:

  • Carry out various content management activities

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the editorial process in all activities leading to publication;
  • Liaise with other in-house teams and stakeholders, writers, photographers, printers, web designers and developers to negotiate and monitor timescales for stages in the editorial process;
  • Organize and research projects within tight deadlines;
  • Summarize, localize and globalize written material;
  • Correct manuscripts;
  • Obtain copyrights to use materials from other publications;
  • Deal with web and email queries, (e.g. from writers and the public);
  • Write and rewrite articles;
  • Collate and research the work of several authors;
  • Proofread, edit and write online content (including those via social media);
  • Upload text and images to a website using a content management system;
  • Compile newsletters and online materials
  • Assess manuscripts and make recommendations on their publication to senior editorial staff;
  • Respond to copyright queries from writers and other publishers in the first instance;
  • Update and rewrite materials;
  • Use your own specialist knowledge to contribute ideas;
  • Assist with the art direction and design of publications.

Job Requirements

Basic Profile Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in a related field or proven equivalent experience
  • Fluency of written and preferably spoken English
  • Familiarity with online content
  • Sharp commitment to meeting deadlines
  • Ability to keep track of both the big picture and the small details
  • Previous corporate experience is a must
