Job Description
- Installation, configuration and upgrading of Oracle server software and related products.
- DB incidents & Problems handling and resolution.
- Evaluate Oracle features and Oracle related products.
- Establish and maintain sound backup and recovery policies and procedures
- Take care of the Database design and implementation
- Implement and maintain database security (create and maintain users and roles, assign privileges)
- Perform database tuning and performance monitoring.
- De-fragmentation, rebuild indexes, and stats gathering for the different DB tables.
- Perform preventive maintenance, health checks, application tuning and performance monitoring
- Setup and maintain documentation and standards
- Plan growth and changes (capacity planning)
- Work as part of a team and provide 24x7 support when required
- Perform general technical trouble shooting and give consultation to development teams
- Interface with Oracle Corporation for technical support.
- Patch Management and Version Control.
- Provides technical support to application development teams. This is usually in the form of a help desk. The DBA is usually the point of contact for Oracle Corporation.
- Perform any additional operational tasks that are upcoming during the operations
Job Requirements
- 5+ years of experience.
- Oracle Database Administrator Certificate is a must.
- RAC experience is a must.
- Data Guard experience is a must.
- Enterprise Manager Experience including Cloud Control is a must.
- PL/SQL experience is a must.
- Data Management experience is a must.
- ExaData experience is a plus.
- Exalytics experience is a plus.
- Big Data experience is a plus.
- Good understanding of the Oracle database, related utilities and tools
- A good understanding of the underlying operating system
- A good knowledge of the physical database design
