Job Description
- The main purpose of this role is to review data loaded into the data warehouse, making sure it is reliable and accurate using a variety of analytical techniques to identify important issues and problems.
- Recommend maintenance enhancements to data acquisition processes to improve accuracy of data warehouse data
- Make recommendations to operational support for enhancements to systems of record to improve accuracy of operational data
- To review and evaluate information, procedures and results in order to make recommendations to Managers for improvements and/or initiatives.
- Collaborating with business analysts and software development team for identifying and converting business goals into data requirements
- Performing manual and automated tests on data and submitting reports
- Investing and fixing root cause of data quality issues
Job Requirements
Education:
- A good standard of education to include Mathematics/Statistics and English
- Finance/Commerce/Economic/Business background
Skills:
- Must be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of the terms Data Standards and Data Quality, it is essential that the role holder is aware of the risks to the force of poor data quality.
- Good Microsoft Office skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook and the ability to quickly gain an understanding of other software systems
- Must be able to demonstrate the ability to take personal responsibility for addressing problems that arise and achieving results to required standards.
- Must have excellent communication skills in order to present information to staff at all levels both verbally and in writing.
- Good problem solving (error detection, root cause analysis, error correction), conceptual, analytical and decision making skills
- Good project / time management, and organizational skills.
- Able to multi-task, work under pressure
- Good attention to details.
Experience:
- Between 0 and 2 years of experience in a data quality focused role.
- Knowledge of TQM / QA practices / Six Sigma / Process Improvement (As Applied to Data Quality) or other data quality experience
