Job Description
- Build, configure, operate and support global virtualization services comprising 400+ hosts and 13,000 Virtual Machines running predominantly VMware vSphere solutions
- Management, administration and operational support of highly available virtualization services from two global data centers (NA & EMEA)
- Automation of administration, operations, system monitoring and provisioning functions to improve reliability, efficiency and consistency
- Manage & continuously improve end user experience of the Virtualization Service group
- Assist with the planning and management of capacity to meet service demand
- Support the development of strategic plans with the Global Virtualization team to meet requirements of Mentor Graphics Software R&D Teams and Sales Organizations
Job Requirements
- B.Sc. degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Information Technology related field is required
- Strong verbal and written English Language skills
- At least 3 years of experience in Information Technology focusing on Systems Administration and Virtualization
- 1 Year + experience of software programming or scripting, preferably PowerShell or Python and experience programming with REST API
- Experience with managing large VMware based installations is preferable, including vSphere, ESX, vCloud Director, VMView, VCOPS
- Experience with management of Network Attached Storage Appliances is preferable, including Network Appliance & Tin Tri
- Experience supporting both Windows and Linux operating systems in virtual and/or physical environments
- Track record of delivering and supporting services for global organization(s) is preferable
- Some knowledge of KVM & Hyper-V is preferable
- Willingness & ability to travel to data center locations in North America & Ireland
