Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Upgrading and Patching on different versions.
- Master-Slave, RAC setups.
- Query Optimization
- Performance Tunning (Oracle Tunning , Indexing ,Partitioning)
- Deployment of High availability solution with Load Balancing and Failover mechanism.
- Scripts for Automatic Backups and Recovery
- Creating Stored procedures, Triggers and User defined functions
- Maintenance of Log Files, Backups and Users management.
- Establish and maintain sound backup and recovery policies and procedures.
- Implement and maintain database security (create and maintain users and roles, assign privileges)
- Database tuning Develop scripts/tools/wrappers to automate the deployment, administration, and monitoring of large scale database systems.
- Work with counterpart teams to harden, enhance, document, and generally improve the operability of database systems.
- Assist in the configuration/build-out of new deployments to facilitate constant growth.
- Keep different Database environments/clusters operable, scalable.
- Participate at Architect level discussions and contribute.
Job Requirements
Basic Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science
- Minimum 3-6 years of experience in Telecom / Web industry, with hands-on experience on Unix based large scale environments.
- Excellent hands on Oracle, both administration and internals.
- Good hands on experience on Oracle Database Backup, Replication Strategies, High Availability and Disaster recovery.
- Excellent hands on experience on data objects like Stored Procedures, Views, Triggers etc, good background of SDLC and data modeling.
- Prior experience with Telecom BSS / OSS team is must
- Good understanding of unix/linux system logs, configs etc. and ability to debug critical issues.
- Should be able to interpret system health by looking at system stats/profiles.
- Good team player with Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to handle jobs independently if the need arises.
- Quick Learner, able to grasp new techniques / technologies well.
Desired Qualifications
- Education: Master's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent preferred.
- Work experience on CRBT O&M
- Monitoring using tools like Nagios/Collectd/Statsd
- Hands on experience in either of Bash, Perl.
