Job Description

  • Plans, monitors, coordinates, and controls of Project Mobilization activities as per mobilization schedule.
  • Monitors and tracks the construction progress of the project in accordance with the project contract conditions & specifications and leading the site staff to form a cohesive unit resolved to common purpose.
  • Ensures obtaining all necessary permits from local authorities if any.
  • Revise and accepts IFC drawings, project procedures, ITPs etc., and ensure diligent implementation on site.
  • Monitors and tracks the efficiency of construction work and costs are effectively controlled.
  • Ensures that statutory health and safety regulations are observed at all times and that safety on site is maintained at high standard in accordance with HSE representative.
  • Ensuring that the involved parties have received his related approved project documents, drawings and specifications.
  • For feasibility and compliance with milestones and end dates, Review contract documents requirements in detail [Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical etc.]. Prepare & review the Master Plan with the planning Eng. and major Subcontractors, Suppliers and ensuring its approval where required in cooperation with engineering and controls Dept.
  • Analysis of Contract documents to define requirements, objectives, assessment of construction methods and contractual obligation, based on contractual relation, establish Project lines of Communication.
  • Reviews resources schedules ensuring adequate labor and plant are available to maintain the construction schedule.
  • Manages and controls changes / revisions [VOs] to contract documents, scope of works are distributed to concerned personnel, determines which change is requiring variation order. Reviews, identifies and calculates all the impacts of issued VOs with respect to technical, commercial and time aspects in coordination with the site concerned Dep..
  • Formulates Project plan for achieving the stated objectives within the budget, construction program, performance, and quality. Fully responsible and accountable for ensuring that the project is executed in accordance with the approved Project Baselines.
  • Liaisons and settings up lines of external and internal communication with Client representative, Design Consultant, and All involved stakeholders. Reporting progress and issues that have an impact on budget, program, design, construction variations.
  • Contributes in pre-qualifying, capability assessment, technical review of materials and contributing in selecting subcontractors.
  • Assumes responsibility for organizing, supervising, and directing all Projects’ functions, in accordance with the requirements of the Project Execution Plan, and have the responsibility for handling Contractual administration.
  • Arranges and coordinates with Procurement for delivery, expediting and control of all required materials, equipment and services, including those supplied by the client and Site Stores.
  • Maintains and monitors of Project Resources for effective and efficient control of performance and productivity, measures the utilization of the resources and productivity to ensure it does not exceed the planned budget. Where necessary take the required action to ensure sufficient and competent resources is available to fulfill the requirements of work.
  • Shares and Holds Weekly Site Progress Meeting to review project Status, including Subcontractors.
  • Monitors and controls variations to project scope of work, design ensuring that no changes are acted upon unless approved as required by the contract. In addition, reviews the impact of such variations with Construction Manager.
  • Coordinates Subcontractors Kick – off meeting prior to commencement of work by Subcontractors on site, using the subcontractors Kick-off meeting check list. Ensures that all required documents, program / schedule are submitted on time.
  • Safeguards the Company’s interests documenting claims or variation orders, by understanding the General and Particular Condition of contract (including FIDIC) and in complying with them in the project cooperating with engineering and controls Dept.
  • Prepares a monthly payment claims and Final Payment Claims cooperating with engineering and controls Dept. for reviewing and approving.
  • Prepares weekly / monthly Progress Reports and submit to the Client / Consultant as per contract requirements.
  • Plans, Forecasts and controls project expenditure, petty cash, and preliminary related items, etc.

Job Requirements

  • BS degree in Civil / Architect, construction management.
  • Degree / diploma in Project Management, Engineering or other relevant field
  • At least 10 years project management experience in the construction industry.
  • Over 10 years of management experience required.
  • Good knowledge of project management.
  • Able to manage complex projects.
  • Experienced in identification, assessment and management of project risks.
  • Ability to plan and organize self and work in order to achieve objectives and targets
  • Capable of training, supervising and managing staff in project management environment.
  • Proven track record of delivering projects within defined time-lines under high pressure.
  • Knowledge of project management techniques and tools.
