Job Description

  • Assist the Projects Managers to complete Projects on time and within the approved budget
  • Design and set-up the most suitable and effective control organization on all projects to meet these objectives in compliance with contractual specifications.
  • Support the project Manager’s decision-making process providing all information necessary for a rapid identification of any unfavorable trend or any potential problem in time in order to start immediate corrective actions.
  • Create a schedule/cost/Risks awareness atmosphere among all projects participants.
  • Organize and maintain the best integration between scheduling and cost control and Risks Management functions ensuring that any activity is carefully planned and controlled in terms of time, budget and scope of work.
  • Manage and maintain current and accurate records on internal and client database and document control systems (including all logs – material, drawings, RFI…etc.).
  • Work with client, project manager, and vendors to prepare technical and project documentation.
  • Perform internal and vendor audits on the quality, accuracy, and completeness of required documents, database records and information.
  • Properly design the projects Control system suitably scaled to the specific complexity of the projects, in particular:
  • Agree with the Project Manager and with the advice of the project Controls staff on the control philosophy and the best strategy.
  • Establish the resources and organization (skills, manpower, list of tools and procedures applicable, communications) needed to achieve the control strategy; in case of complex projects, a "Projects Control Plan" document should be issued.
  • Ensure, during the initial phase after contract award, the implementation of the Projects Control System
  • Establish the overall projects breakdown structure and relevant coding system to meet all control requirements
  • Coordinate the implementation of application systems required for the Job
  • Schedule and cost forecast are consistent and regularly reviewed reflecting the most updated information and current trends.
  • Specify the projects control requirements to Subcontractors and main packages Suppliers to be included in the Request for Proposal documents
  • Coordinate the preparation of Contract Master Schedule and internal Control Budget and Cash Flow.
  • Coordinate the preparation of Risk and Opportunity Management Plan and its application
  • Coordinate, during the execution phase, the maintenance of the Projects Control System ensuring it works effectively and Projects Status is assessed and reported
  • Ensure reports required by the Client and by internal procedures are regularly issued.
  • Direct, coordinate and supervise the work of Planning Engineers, Cost Control Engineers and Risk Engineers assigned to the projects.
  • Assure the timely update of quarterly Forecast/yearly Budget and the associated cash-flows
  • Participate in and assist the preparation of Tenders.
  • Support the Project Manager in all the most important meetings; ensuring Planning & Cost Control Engineers and Risk Engineers are promptly kept informed about all decisions or events impacting costs and schedules.
  • Support the Project Manager and the Contract Administrators during the contract changes/claims process providing the impact evaluation on costs and schedules.
  • Assure the monthly issue of Project Status Report (PSR) and other reports as required by higher management.
  • Support the Project Manager for the preparation of the Projects Close-out Report.

Job Requirements

  • BS degree in Civil / Architect, construction management preferred.
  • Degree / diploma in Project Management, or other relevant field.
  • At least 7 years project management experience in the construction industry.
  • Good knowledge of project management.
  • Compliance with company procedures and policies.
  • Proficient in the management of Projects planning & scheduling functions, including schedule development and schedule analysis.
  • Excellent degree of cost awareness.
  • Good computer skills especially in Microsoft Office applications / Primavera.
  • Ability to plan and organize self and work in order to achieve objectives and targets.
  • Capable of training, supervising and managing staff in project management environment.
  • Knowledge of project management techniques and tools.
