Job Description

Position Summary:

  • We require a bright, experienced, highly motivated, technically talented and result-oriented Individual.
  • Working under the supervision of the Presales team leader, the Senior Presale Engineer’s main role is to support the customers with their technical requirements.
  • The candidate will liaise with customer technical teams to analyze requirements, design the appropriate solution(s) and present a range of options to satisfy the customers’ project requirements.
  • The solutions presented will primarily be from the product profile of the vendors Xceltra represents in the region.
  • The candidate will provide support and information to the Marketing team for the preparation of IDC marketing material.
  • The job holder must build a high level of knowledge about the products promoted by the company.
  • While training will be provided on the specific products, it is expected that the candidate will have a good standing in telecommunications and preferably industrial automation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and keep up to date a thorough understanding of contemporary Industrial Data Communication (IDC) technologies applicable to the MEA region.
  • Be aware of industry trends, drivers and regulatory initiatives.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge base of the range of products promoted by the company and those of the competitors.
  • Develop the relevant knowledge, techniques and skills required by attending training and through flexible means like reading product literature.
  • Identify and qualify customers’ business and application requirements in order to obtain and assess project needs.
  • Identify solution gaps after gathering customers’ requirements and communicate back to the team.
  • Prepare and deliver technical proposals that best address client requirements and make sure they are clear to the client.
  • Build customized demonstrations and proof of concept (POC) as an aid to the sales process.
  • Develop and deliver technical presentations to company clients that clearly articulate the benefits and value proposition of Xceltra’s solutions.
  • Act as the technical reference for the marketing and sales teams in the company and answer – or be able to fetch answers for – all technical questions raised internally to help their marketing and sales campaigns.
  • Work with Marketing, business development to identify and research new market verticals and opportunities.
  • Help build and maintain Presales processes, supporting documentation and collateral.
  • Work with the Presales team towards achieving team goals.
  • Perform aftersales value added services (VAS), remote support, site survey, site visit, configuration, and troubleshooting.

Job Requirements

Core Competencies, Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science in Communication Engineering.
  • 2-3 years hands on experience in Data Communications, Telecom Presales or technical support role.
  • Knowledge of the Data communication products like Ethernet switches, routers, modems, serial converters, wireless devices, and fiber optic design.
  • Experience in troubleshooting data Networks, VOIP, Wireless and fiber.
  • Creativity & Innovation, analytical thinking, and problem solving.
  • Excellent command of English both written and spoken.
  • Excellent communication skills; oral and written communications.
  • Effective demonstration and presentation techniques.
  • Customer service orientated, motivated, honest and results driven.
  • Males Preferred.
