RESPONSIBILITIES:
- This is a Staff Network Engineer position. The selected candidate will work with a high performing team to develop and design robust networks for Visa’s global corporate, extranet, and backbone network infrastructure.
Key responsibilities:
- Plan, design, implement, and provide ongoing support of network systems of high complexity
- Install, configure and provide operational support of these networks’ routers, switches and load balancers.
- Ensure full compliance of Visa Key Controls and Technical Service Requirements for all network architecture, designs, and implementations both past and present
- Ensure all changes go through appropriate review, change control, and acceptance before implementation
- Build and maintain relationships with global and virtual teams and third parties on network development or support issues
- Provide highest level of technical consultancy to ensure problem resolution is achieved in the shortest possible timeframe
- Work with the Information Security Office to ensure solutions deployed meet Visa Security Requirements and provide technical assistance for investigation and analysis of security alerts
- Development of processes and procedures for use by the Network team and third parties in the management of network environments
- Develop and position solutions and build plans to effectively gain buy-in from all participants
- Develop and streamline processes to further improve delivery of Global Network and Telecommunication services
Job Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in a Staff Network Engineering role
- At least 3 years related experience in infrastructure/network environments and designing, planning, documenting and implementing LANs and WANs using latest technology.
- Expertise on IP Technologies and extensive knowledge of WAN technologies such as MPLS and E1/T1 and Metro Ethernet.
- Expert engineering knowledge of network hardware, specifically Cisco ASR 1K and 9K routers; Nexus 5K and 4500 switches, Arista 7000 series switches, F5 load balancers with a strong focus on data center technology
- Extensive experience and expertise on IP routing protocols such as OSPF, and BGP
- Knowledge of Cisco encryption technologies (IPSec, SSL), and hot standby protocols HSRP and VRRP
- Advanced understanding of TCP/IP network protocols, including common application protocols
- Experience in high-availability networks in load-balanced, n-tier application environments
- Experience with Cisco wireless technology
- Experience with Arista VXLAN technology and Arista Cloudvision
- Experience Deploying Cisco MPLS pseudowire circuits
- CCNA, or CCNP Routing and switching certification preferred
- Coordinate with team members to make engineering decisions within the documented configuration requirements and control processes
