Job Description

  • Interviewing and selecting new teachers of Arabic. Making sure job descriptions, pay scales are up-to-date as advised by the head of finance/personnel. Recommending potential employees to the MD. Overseeing induction and development programs for new employees.
  • Setting up monthly schedules of classroom observation/sitting-in on teachers. (observations must include written feedback using the standard forms)
  • Conducting 3 months probationary teacher appraisals. Conducting 6 months performance reviews and annual assessment for current coordinators/teachers.
  • Taking necessary disciplinary action for any misconduct issue/poor teaching performance or breaking HR rules of conduct.
  • Running monthly staff meetings of all teachers, sharing news, updates, strengths and development areas of the teaching center.
  • Line managing coordinators, full-time and part-time teachers of Arabic.
  • Ensure that coordinators present six month Job Plans. Reviewing their progress against these targets every 3 months.
  • Reviewing coordinators and teachers job descriptions on an annual basis.
  • Running Bi-weekly meetings with coordinators and issuing minutes.
  • Preparing annual holiday schedules for full-time teachers
  • Assisting admin with timetables and allocating Full-Timer and Part Timer teachers to classes and placing students.
  • Ensure Coordinators are on a month-on / month-off schedule as far as possibly teaching as and when necessary.
  • Arranging (aligning with the admin) one-to-one / small group tuition
  • Aligning with the Customer Care team to run the mid-course surveys with students.
  • Responding to Educational complaints, and providing advice and follow-up to students (especially those from overseas universities)

Job Requirements

  • MA degree in teaching Arabic as a Foreign Language from a reputable University
  • Experience in teaching Arabic as a Foreign Language. At least 5-7 years of teaching experience in both Egyptian Colloquial Arabic and Modern Standard Arabic for all levels up to High Advanced proficiency level
  • Experience and skill in customizing special Arabic courses, such as diplomatic Language programs and University undergraduate and postgraduate programs
  • Ability to design curriculum for different Arabic Proficiency levels
  • Awareness of Arabic course books available in the market, and ability to judge on strengths and weaknesses of each syllabus
  • Experience and ability to create supplementary materials for suggested syllabuses, and course books
  • Previous management experience in education institutes
