Job Description
A Canadian Catering Company Seeking a professional Head chef to work with our team to produce and manage the catering and takeout menu items.
Job Duties:
- Plan, direct and conduct food preparation and culinary activities
- Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
- Create new menu items including Mediterranean cuisine
- Inspect supplies, equipment and work areas for cleanliness and functionality
- Food costs, inventory, and waste management
- Determine production schedules and staff requirements necessary to ensure timely delivery of services
- Recruit, hire, train, schedule and supervise kitchen staff
- Perform the opening and closing duties of the kitchen
- Other tasks assigned by the owner
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- Food Safe handling Certificate
- University degree in Culinary Arts required and/or Diploma in a Culinary program or related certificate considered an asset
- Experience in creating and executing new menu items including Mediterranean cuisine
- 10+ years kitchen management experience
- 10+ years as a head chef or sous chef
- Detail oriented, with good organizational abilities
- People management and team leadership
Contract term:
- Candidate must pass all technical and personal interviews
- 4 years contract from the first day of work
- The candidate responsible for the traveling and living expenses to and in Canada
- Wages will be according to the government median salary for equal position (currently 16 CAD per hour)
- Approval of the working visa application is the candidate responses and we will provide all the supporting documents
- Preferably if the candidates are qualified for any Canadian immigration program
