Job Description
Job Purpose
- To optimize through selling both on an ad-hoc and block space basis the entire DHL Air Network.
- To centrally control all the sales and marketing of the DHL Air Network
- To ensure that unit cost for core material is driven down through the effective development of new products which would assist in back filling of aircraft.
Principal Accountabilities
- Inform, instruct, advise and co-ordinate with other DHL entities in the Middle East in regards to all Commercial planning activities.
- Ensure all stakeholders are provided with the correct information pertaining to commercial activities and product development.
- Assist in the development of new products in conjunction with the DHL Sales Manager to ensure that the ability of the network is sold both internally within DHL and externally.
- Liaison with the Operations Department so that the use of bi-lateral agreements are not breached.
- Formal and informal inter-departmental management meetings to provide commercial management with updated info regarding all network development, commercial and marketing issues.
- Pro-active planning of network capacity.
- Consultative and analytical support to internal and external contacts.
- Problem solving in this function is often complex and is related to the management of conflicting levels of priorities and expectation between internal and external parties.
- Maximizing DHL’s commercial position, in a selective controlled manner, supporting DHL’s core business and yet being perceived as neutral by a market that is often competing with DHL.
- Resolve issues relating to the provision of aircraft capacity – planned, unplanned and dedicated to contract activity.
- Constructively manage issues of conflicting commercial priorities between Core operations and ACG operations along with the challenge relating to yield, contractual and capacity challenges.
Job Requirements
- 8 years of professional experience.
- strong commercial background in Aviation related activity, sales and marketing
- Relationship management, pricing, distribution channel selection ability, commercial, operational, budgeting and planning systems familiarity; required.
