Job Description
Manages distribution channels activities of organization by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Implements strategic distribution plans to accommodate corporate goals.
- Manages distribution sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals accordingly.
- Reviews market analyses to determine distributor needs, price schedules, and discount rates.
- Handles staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control distribution program.
- Sets distribution channel development activities and coordinates distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas, and goals.
- Advises distributors concerning sales and advertising techniques.
- Analyzes sales statistics to formulate policy and assist dealers in promoting sales.
- Represents Company at trade shows to promote products.
- Delivers sales presentations to key clients in coordination with distributors.
- Meets with key clients, assisting distributors with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals.
- Coordinates liaison between sales department and distributors.
- Analyzes and controls expenditures of division to conform to budgetary requirements.
- Assists other departments within organization to prepare marketing publications.
- Prepares periodic distribution and sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed distributor base expansion.
- Monitors and evaluates the activities and products of the competition and other distributors.
Job Requirements
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Ability:
- Fluent English
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
- Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
- Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Math Ability:
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Computer Skills:
- Accounting software, Internet software, E-mail
Certificates and Licenses:
- Driver’s license
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Directly supervises up to 6 employees in the Distribution Department.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
