Production Manager (Glass Factory)

The Production Manager is responsible for the smooth operation of the daily production in the factory as well as ensuring that the productivity are achieved and the production plan is implemented with good quality standards. He is responsible for maintaining a clean shop floor with a good health & safety environment ready for audits and visits at any time. The main responsibilities will include:

• Receiving the production plan from Planning and implementing the plan on the shop floor
• Coordinating with planning in case of problems arising to change the production plan based on
• priorities
• Continuous follow up with planning about the production
• Coordinate with planning the daily production reports with analysis of productivity and scrap
• Analyzing the root causes of reduction in productivity, stoppages and scrap and responsible for implementing the corrective actions to avoid them as well as document these plans and report on their follow up. Continuous improvement of the production process is expected
• Having the flexibility and decision making abilities to deal with problems of workers, machines or urgent customer needs
• Setting the BOM which is in coordination with Supply Chain and planning and reporting the efficiency and preference of consumables
• Coordinating with Quality Manager on a daily basis on the problems encountered, scrap and samples requested and any actions required
• Setting up Visuals with planning and quality on the shop floor to portray productivity, scrap, main
• KPIs etc
• Analyze the consumption of materials and consumables
• Apply work instructions, best practices and lean manufacturing concepts on the shop floor
• Ensure the presence of a safe and clean work environment with the machines and shop floor being optimally a sanitized environment. Workers in clean uniforms, wearing the necessary safety
• Implement health and safety standards
• Operation of the shop floor with minimum work force to reduce costs
• Implement the necessary control measures
• Managing the daily problems with workers as well as allocating working in the different processes
• Ensuring that the workers are properly trained and arranging for trainings to develop and improve their skills and efficiency
• Ensuring that the quality standards are maintained and the workers are aware of them and
• implementing them in coordination with Quality Manager
• Ensuring that all finished goods ready for delivery are based on the customers quality standards and ensuring that they are packed and loaded in a manner that the customer will receive them with no defects
• Liable for any problems arising at the customer and coordinating with quality and supply chain to avoid them
• Ensuring that the machines are properly maintained and that all their records including stoppages,
• change of consumables, maintenance activities, machine downtime are documented
• Coordinating with Maintenance the machine maintenance schedule to avoid delays
• Continuous development and improvement projects are set of the production process
• Monthly report of the improvement projects as well as problems encountered on shop floor and action required from his department as well as other departments
