Job Description
- Support and supervise Junior Shop Drawing engineers to provide technical assistance and/or review, verify, and check drawings, forms, and designs, and respond to any inquiries (Shop Drawing/Design) from the team.
- Review shop drawing work of subcontractors (consulting offices) for audit and verification, communicate any changes back for technical consistency, and act as the focal point between projects consultants, project site, and consulting office(s).
- Send Request For Information (RFIs), whenever needed, to the project consultant or the consulting office for mutual agreement on technical specifications and requirements.
- Prepare technical shop drawings, whenever required, on paper and digital format, that respond to set technical specifications and quality standards, and conform to recognized procedures.
- Undertake quantity survey for all architectural engineering items, whenever needed.
- Undertake quantity survey for material submittals (whenever needed) contact relevant suppliers for obtaining price quotations, and select the optimum offer.
- Coordinate with Quantity Survey (QS) personnel to undertake QS for Variation Orders (VOs), revise contract- related information for determining pricing, and communicate changes with relevant project personnel to submit notes of claim.
- Attend frequent meetings with the project’s client/consultant to coordinate the project’s architectural needs and requirements, solve any problems, or clarify technical issues.
- Write and submit a monthly report for each project to the Project Technical Office Manager to monitor and evaluate the project’s technical changes (if any), progress and performance, and impact on other aspects.
- Undertake and/or supervise the assembling all technical information, data, and drawings needed from relevant departments for full coordination of Shop Drawing across the Structure/Civil, Architectural, and Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) architectural designs
- Submit clean copies of designs and drawings, Variation Orders (VOs), and Request For Information (RFIs) to the Document Controller (DC) for archiving and documentation.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Design/Shop Drawing courses (e.g. in Robot, Revit) is a plus.
- 10 years of previous experience of working in Technical Office (on-site) and Shop Drawing is a must
- Construction work on-site experience is a plus
