Job Description
- Create engaging e-learning activities and compelling course content that enhances retention and conversion
- Work close with subject matter experts and identify & Analyze target audience & their training needs.
- Design instructional strategy, state end goals and create content that matches them.
- Conduct instructional research and analysis on learners and contexts
- Apply tested instructional design models, practice and methods. (ADDIE, SAM & others)
- Create realistic learning objectives and performance for students and instructors.
- Redesign courses for online presentation that are conducive to online courses while still adhering to academic goals of the institution.
- Provide exercises and activities that enhance the e-learning process.
- Create supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, role plays, games etc)
- Decide on the criteria used to judge learner’s performance and develop assessment instruments
- Remain aware of all emerging instructional technologies and make recommendations about when to adopt certain systems to continue to offer the best e-learning experience possible.
- Develop materials for courses based on information provided by subject matter experts and instructors to create the best coursework possible.
- Maintain project documentation and course folders
Job Requirements
- Proven working experience in instructional design and with instructional technology with a minimum of 5+ years of experience in producing online courses.
- Excellent knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models.
- Lesson and curriculum planning skills
- Solid knowledge of course development software and at least one Learning Management System
- Visual design skills (Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator) and ability to storyboard
- Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio scripts/video scripts.
- Basic HTML and Flash programming knowledge
- Strong analytical & problem-solving skills and willingness to roll up one’s sleeves to get the job done.
- Skilled at working effectively with cross functional teams in a startup.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to learn & work under pressure.
- MS/BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent preferred - MBA is preferred.
