Job Description

Job Purpose:

The IT Technical Support is responsible for supporting all end-points in the campus like PCs, printers, scanners, think clients...etc. Including setting up and implementation of operating systems, taking backup, adjusting configuration and all related support operations. Including audiovisual devices administration.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining and administrating all campus PCs, Mac and multifunction devices
  • Install new / rebuild existing computers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, applications, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.
  • Participation in campus wide projects and ensure smooth transition from planning phase to implementation phase.
  • Developing and maintaining installation and configuration procedures according to meeting the required operational level agreement for providing that service.
  • Understand what the customers are looking for and supporting all university departments by providing 1st & 2nd IT support.
  • Planning and managing new systems requirements in accordance with standards and project/ operational requirements.
  • Troubleshooting technical issues ( hardware and OS )
  • Diagnosing and repairing faults. Ability to identify repair and replace faulty PC/laptop spare parts
  • Maintain HW Stock and pc / laptop availability and purchases
  • Installing and configuring hardware and software.
  • Participate in Active Directory administration and file sharing services
  • Upgrade operating systems with new releases and system updates
  • Maintain knowledge transfer and staff succession for service high availability
  • Provide after-hours support for Infrastructure related emergencies as well occasional weekend maintenance
  • Maintain the HCI infrastructure including vSAN administration and servers hardware
  • On-Call, standby 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for any technical problem or any disaster that might happen.
  • Participate in all requested or assigned additional tasks and projects.

Job Requirements

Person Specifications:

Education: 

  • Bachelor degree in Information System, Computer Science or Engineering.

Years of Experience: 

  • 5 to 7 years of experience in the same field with previous experience in Educational field.

Other skills and qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge on Microsoft, Mac OS and Linux.
  • Communication skills.
