Responsibilities:

  • Fully support company’s PR strategy and execute it in different phases
  • Contribute to client brainstorming sessions
  • Draft news releases; develop and maintain media lists; proof media materials
  • Develop, pitch and distribute client stories to media; research story angles/trends
  • Update monthly coverage reports; monitor digital and traditional media and analyze results
  • Blog writing, social media research, content creation
  • Compile/update regular status reports
  • Build and update media lists and databases
  • Assist with event planning and production
  • Conduct competitive and secondary research
  • Pitch agency stories to the news media
  • Daily news monitoring for client mentions
  • Related administrative duties; answering general inquiries, setting up meetings, arranging couriers, coordinating catering, etc.

Other Details:

  • Full-time: The chosen candidate can expect to work full‐time (37.5 hours per week) during summer.
  • Part‐time candidates can expect to work 12‐15 hours per week during fall (schedule is flexible and depends on the student’s class schedule, course requirements (if applicable) and availability).
  • Compensation: Monthly Stipend, with possibility for performance bonus at end of internship. Interns are responsible for their transportation to and from the internship workplace (in Maadi, Cairo).

Internship Requirements

Qualifications:

To be considered for a 4PR internship, YOU MUST:

  • Currently completing senior year of studies, or a new graduate of related BS or Masters program.
  • Degree in mass communications, integrated communications, with public relations, journalism, marketing, multi-media and/or graphic design, or business management; business administration is an asset.
  • Excellent written and verbal Arabic / English.
  • Planning to pursue a career in public relations.
  • Proficient in MS Office, and comfortable with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and video-editing programs.

  • Superior verbal and written communication skills (please provide two writing samples); proven understanding of AP Style.
  • Manages time effectively; prioritizes appropriately; asks questions; shows initiative; stays focused and productive during business hours.
  • Shows urgency for work; follows up promptly to requests; available when needed.
  • Demonstrates flexibility; adapts to changing priorities; demonstrates tolerance for risk and stress; works effectively under pressure.
  • Demonstrates an eagerness to learn, set goals, accept feedback and grow; a consistently positive attitude and a strong desire to achieve, and a strong work ethic.
  • Has a good sense of humor.
  • Has an understanding of the local and regional media landscape – publications, news stations, print & online.
  • Shows keen business acumen; news consciousness, cultural consciousness, social consciousness.
