Internship Description

Job Description:

  • The STEAM Instructor is responsible for the preparation, implementation, and facilitation of afterschool STEAM programs that include classroom management, recording accurate attendance, and organize the program dismissal. Classroom management, communication, and organizational skills are required. Experience and basic knowledge of art, science, engineering, and/or mathematics are preferred. Content areas include engineering challenges, Little Bits technology, art projects, and science experiments. 

The intern will learn:

  • Implement established STEAM curricula
  • Create a positive, achievement-oriented learning environment
  • Reflect on successes and areas of growth as a teacher, seek to improve performance, and respond to feedback
  • Participate in collaborative curriculum development, and grade-level activities
  • Track attendance and confirm absences prior to the start of the program
  • Set up class space, clean up after class, and store materials properly
  • Must ensure proper dismissal to designated adults with or without site coordinator present
  • Perform demonstrations for the class on technique and process.
  • Assist in the selection and/or recommendation of class materials; provide economical options and alternatives
  • Monitor the safety of all projects
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
     

Internship Start date: immediately

Duration: Three months, After the three month’s training course the company will offer you a part- time position as a STEAM Instructor.

Internship Requirements

  • Mechatronics and Computer Science Bachelor’s Degree “students preferred”
  • Flexibility, excellent work ethic, and be dependable
  • Enthusiastic and be able to work independently
  • Knowledge of science, math, or engineering background 
  • Knowledge of technology and how to incorporate into instructional practice
  • Ability to work in a constantly changing environment and adapts flexibly in shifting projects or priorities to meet the needs of a dynamic transformation effort; comfortable with ambiguity and non-routine situations.
  • Flexible schedule with availability after regular school hours
