About ARL
Autotronics Research Laboratory (ARL) is a research center located at the Faculty of Engineering Ain Shams University, the Laboratory is dedicated to the research fields of advanced transportation systems which include autonomous driving high and low level control, autonomous driving behavior, perception, localization, vehicle to vehicle communications and vehicle to infrastructure communication. The lab is currently working in collaboration with University of Carlos the third De Madrid developing an autonomous personal mobility solution for closed urban environments on an electric golf cart.
Job Description:
- ARL is looking for a talented Candidates to work as a research intern in the field of autonomous high level control working on advanced control algorithms for an autonomous vehicle including deploying the following control techniques (Classical PID, Adaptive PID, Optimal control techniques including Modern Predictive Control and Linear Quadratic Regulator, Reinforcement Learning).
Internship Start date: 1/8/2019
Duration: 4 weeks
Internship Requirements
Applicants must have the following requirements.
- Excellent knowledge in MATLAB, Simulink.
- Good system modelling skills (mathematical based modelling and data driven models)
- Good programming skills (C++, Python)
- Basic knowledge in the field of reinforcement learning techniques.
- Basic knowledge in optimal control techniques
- Strong knowledge in classical feedback control
- Strong knowledge in state feedback control.
- GPA over 3.3 is a plus.
- Senior one or senior two mechatronics or software engineering student.
- Master students are very welcomed to apply.
