About ARL
Autotronics Research Laboratory (ARL) is a research center located at the Faculty of Engineering Ain Shams University, the Laboratory is dedicated to the research fields of advanced transportation systems which include autonomous driving high and low level control, autonomous driving behavior, perception, localization, vehicle to vehicle communications and vehicle to infrastructure communication. The lab is currently working in collaboration with University of Carlos the third De Madrid developing an autonomous personal mobility solution for closed urban environments on an electric golf cart.
Job Description:

ARL is looking for talented candidates to work as research interns in the field of autonomous perception. Developing advanced perception algorithms (visual odometery, Visual SLAM, visual mapping, proprioceptive and exteroceptive sensors interfacing, object detection and tracking).
Internship Start date: 1/8/2019
Duration: 4 weeks
Internship Requirements
Applicants must have the following requirements:
- Object oriented programming with C++ and/or python.
- Knowledge in the fields of machine vision, image processing.
- Basic knowledge in Robot Operating System (ROS).
- Knowledge in machine learning algorithms in perception.
- Senior one or senior two (last 2 years) Mechatronics or Software Engineering student.
- GPA over 3.3 is a plus
- Worked on perception or machine vision related projects is a plus.
- Master students are very welcomed to apply.
