Role description:

Since concrete is the most widely used material worldwide, concrete industries have the environmental and societal responsibility to contribute to sustainable development. The concrete industry is a significant contributor to air pollution and also a consumer of vast quantities of natural materials, including water. For each ton of cement produced, one ton of CO2 and other greenhouse gases (which contribute to global warming), is released into the atmosphere.

Main activities

  • Use of waste and sewage sludge in strcutural concrete in order to reduce environmental impact concre

  • Implement a new way of discarding large quantity of sludge and fly ash, which is produced in wast

  • With the current water shortage in the world, recycled wastewater is used for making concrete

  • An attempt will be made to use plastics in designing a structural grade concrete

  • Review of Literature on concrete and its various elements and types

Internship Start date: 1 July (flexible)

Duration: 8-12 weeks
