Job Description:
- Awareness of international regulations & documentation requirements in order to process shipments
- Handle the daily operations of the import department
- Communicate any delays in shipment to the respective clients through phone calls and emails
- Provide excellent customer service to all internal and external customers
- Cargo tracking of import ocean/air shipments to ensure timely delivery.
- Notify freight forwarder and vendor of missing or incorrect shipping documentation and follow up until receipt and/or resolution is reached.
- Communicate shipping instructions, vessel and flight schedules with the Freight Forwarder
- Manage import ocean/air and truck shipments
- Prepare documents related to cargo shipping
- Determine the best routing/mode of transport.
- Daily tracking & tracing on all shipments/modes arranged for pick-up and delivery of goods to respective locations
- Assemble details (document requirements, routing instructions, tariff codes, etc.) for first sale orders and furnish to vendors.
- Review final documents.
- Monitor shipments and Customs clearance.
- Resolve shipment issues, and possess the ability to determine when to elevate to management for resolution.
- Maintain Import document files.
- Perform Administrative tasks: copying, filing, faxing, scanning.
- Perform other required duties.
