Internship Description

Job Description:

  • To assist with the technical capacity building of the Khosos Primary Health Center
  • To train, support and follow –up Al-Rahma activities in the community and health center
  • To Support head of project with all activities, surveys conducted, reporting and data management.
  • To organize and start up the activities at the community centers with the support of the local partner.
  • To train youth volunteers on infant and young child feeding, nutrition and health.
  • To mentor and on-job support to youth volunteers.
  • To follow –up community and health centre activities.
  • To conducting weekly and monthly reports.
  • Performs tasks inherent to the position responding to mission requirements

Objective 1: Project Management: implementation of the Health and Nutrition activities of the project

Activities:

  • Assist head of project on training ( set up the training, and support for preparation of materials)
  • Assist head of project on the implementation methodologies, baseline survey and monitoring.
  • Quality control of methodological tools used in project implementation by the partners. - Including those for beneficiary selection, baseline surveys, focus group discussions, selection and registration of beneficiaries.
  • Contribute to elaborating activity progress reports and donor reports.
  • Conduct and organize focus group discussions and other M&E activities when required.
  • Identify, refer to and follow-up the beneficiaries (mothers, children and pregnant women) in the community. Actively participate in implementation of breastfeeding practices and child care practices provided to beneficiaries

Objective 2: Human Resources: recruitment and training of the staff needed

Activities:

  • Contribute to selection and training of youth volunteers.
  • Contribute to training of youth volunteers and provide regular support them in their activities.

Objective 3: Administrative and logistics management

Activities:

  • Assist head of project on administrative and logistic aspects of the project activities.

Objective 4: Reporting and coordination

Activities

  • Participate to creation/revision of project tools
  • Realize a weekly and monthly report
  • Participate to external reports if needed
  • Ensure coordination with partners on the field on request of the supervisors

The intern will learn:

  • Humanitarian context, methods and rules
  • Project management
  • Health and Nutrition related to Mothers and Childs
  • How to carry out a survey
  • Capacity building

Duration: 4 months (until 31/07/180)

Internship Requirements

Academic Background

  • High school degree achiever

Desirable specific/ technical Knowledge:

  • Good quality of interpersonal relation and diplomacy
  • Analytical capability
  • Capability and experience as a trainer
  • Capable of set up and use new software for statistic and data collection (ODK)
  • Organizational and managerial capability

Languages Skills:

  • Fluent in Arabic with at least basic understanding of English

Computer Skills :

  • Knowledge and skills in the use of computer software (World, Excel)

Mobility:

  • Within the project area
