Job Description
Own the annual shipping and export-logistics strategy (carrier mix, capacity planning, freight cost) aligned to the export sales plan.
Manage and develop the Export Logistics Supervisor and the wider export logistics team, including performance and succession planning.
Run competitive tendering for new shipping lines and freight forwarders, benchmark container/reefer freight rates across carriers, and select the optimal combination of cost, transit time and reliability.
Negotiate and manage contracts and commercial terms with shipping lines, freight forwarders and reefer/container providers.
Own the export-logistics KPI dashboard (booking lead time, on-time shipment %, documentation accuracy) and report to the Supply Chain Manager.
Oversee the loading schedule across sites/ports to ensure vessel cut-off compliance.
Act as the escalation owner for shipment disruptions (container shortage, port congestion, customs holds) requiring cross-functional resolution.
Coordinate with Quality Assurance to confirm phytosanitary and MRL clearance before shipment release.
Ensure export documentation (phytosanitary, customs, commercial, GOEIC) is complete and audit-ready before every shipment.
Own the export-logistics budget and control freight, demurrage and detention costs.
Approve container/reefer bookings and loading plans within the agreed shipping plan and budget.
Job Requirements
BSc in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
8–12 years in export logistics or freight forwarding.
3+ years in a supervisory or managerial role within an export-driven agribusiness or FMCG environment.
Experience with cold-chain reefer export shipments to EU, UK, and Russia markets.
Working experience with ERP-based logistics/order tracking, preferably Oracle JD Edwards (JDE).
