Job Description

VSAT Technical Leadership & Operations: Lead the design, engineering, implementation, operation, maintenance, and optimization of VSAT and satellite communication networks. Review and approve network designs, link budgets, bandwidth requirements, technical configurations, and the selection of satellite capacity, frequency bands, antennas, RF equipment, modems, and network architecture based on customer and project requirements. Provide technical leadership across Ku-band, C-band, and Ka-band solutions, ensuring network availability, capacity, latency, performance, and SLA targets are achieved. Establish operational procedures, escalation matrices, preventive maintenance plans, and troubleshooting standards. Monitor network availability, bandwidth utilization, service performance, outages, and SLA compliance, ensuring timely incident resolution, corrective and preventive actions, and root-cause analysis of recurring faults and service degradation. Lead the resolution of complex RF, satellite, IP, interference, and network performance issues, while staying up to date with GEO, MEO, and LEO satellite technology developments and assessing their applicability to Mobi Egypt’s business.

Project & Deployment Management: Lead VSAT projects from technical assessment and planning through installation, commissioning, acceptance, and operational handover. Prepare and review project implementation plans, resource requirements, schedules, technical documentation, and acceptance procedures. Coordinate field surveys, installations, antenna alignment, testing, and customer acceptance, ensuring delivery within agreed scope, schedule, quality, and budget, in coordination with customers, internal departments, satellite operators, and equipment vendors.

Satellite Capacity & Vendor Management: Coordinate with satellite operators, equipment manufacturers, distributors, and technology partners. Evaluate satellite capacity options based on coverage, performance, availability, and commercial requirements. Support negotiations related to satellite bandwidth, equipment, technical support, and service agreements, while developing and maintaining strong relationships with key satellite industry partners.

Quality, Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all VSAT activities comply with applicable regulatory requirements, company policies, customer requirements, and HSE standards. Maintain proper documentation of network designs, link budgets, configurations, site records, acceptance documents, and maintenance records. Establish technical standards, templates, checklists, and procedures for VSAT projects and operations. Support compliance with applicable Egyptian telecommunications and spectrum requirements and coordinate regulatory matters with relevant internal and external stakeholders.

Commercial, Presales & Solution Development: Work closely with the Business Development and Sales teams to analyze customer requirements, conduct technical site assessments and feasibility studies, and develop technically sound and commercially competitive VSAT solutions. Prepare solution architectures, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), technical proposals, scopes of work, implementation plans, project costing, business cases, and technical compliance responses. Review RFPs/RFQs and lead technical responses, support customer presentations, clarification meetings, and negotiations, and develop standardized VSAT solution packages for different customer segments and applications.

Cost Management & Business Development: Support management in developing Mobi Egypt’s VSAT business strategy and identifying new satellite connectivity opportunities across telecom, oil & gas, utilities, construction, banking, government, maritime, remote sites, and other relevant sectors. Contribute to the development of managed satellite connectivity services and recurring-revenue models, while optimizing bandwidth utilization and satellite capacity costs. Review equipment, installation, O&M, and logistics costs to improve solution competitiveness, support management in evaluating CAPEX/OPEX models, and identify operational cost-reduction opportunities without compromising service quality. Represent Mobi Egypt technically in strategic VSAT opportunities.
