Job Description

  • Calling on Egyptian residents to join us in Zanzibar, Tanzania!
  • We are seeking a dynamic and hands-on Hotel Operations Manager for our boutique hotel on the island of Zanzibar to lead our team in delivering exceptional guest experiences at our charming boutique hotel. This role is perfect for a self-motivated individual who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about creating memorable stays for our guests.
  • Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all aspects of hotel operations, including front desk management, reservations, housekeeping, food and beverage services, and maintenance.
  • Ensure efficient and effective day-to-day operations, maintaining high standards of service and cleanliness throughout the property.
  • Lead and motivate a diverse team, fostering a positive work culture focused on teamwork, accountability, and guest satisfaction.
  • Develop and implement strategies to drive revenue growth and enhance profitability, including sales and marketing initiatives and cost control measures.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with guests, responding promptly to inquiries, feedback, and complaints to ensure exceptional service delivery.
  • Monitor industry trends and competition, identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement to stay ahead in the market.
  • Maintain compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, including licensing requirements.
  • Collaborate with the owners to develop and execute the hotel's overall vision, goals, and strategic plan.

Job Requirements

  • Proven experience of 4 years in hotel management or a similar role, preferably in a boutique or small hotel setting.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead teams to achieve excellence.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-centric approach.
  • Solid understanding of hotel operations, including front office procedures, housekeeping standards, and food and beverage management.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive revenue growth and optimize operational efficiency.
  • Knowledge of industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor analysis.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Bachelor's degree in hospitality management or related field preferred.
  • Prior experience of service in the army, demonstrating discipline, leadership, and problem-solving skills is a plus.
  • Prior experience working in East Africa would be considered an advantage.
